Fresher?? Looking for job in IT?
Most of the freshers want to know how to get a job as a fresher, how to crack an interview. If you are fresher from computer or IT background and
looking for a Job in IT industry then here is a to-do list that help you in
getting job.
1. Make a strong resume of yours
Resume is the thing from which
you are going to be judged before you entered in interview room. So make it eye
catching. Google some sample resumes. Try to find out all the things you are
good at, note down your extra-curricular activities.
While writing technical skills
write only that skills in which you are perfect at. Write utmost 2 technical
skills. More the technical skills in
resume more questions to be asked to you.
If you want to go for developer position delete the testing skill from resume or vice versa.
2. Solve Aptitude questions with timer
Aptitude is first hurdle for every fresher interview. Most of the
freshers from middle level engineer colleges has week aptitude. Practice
aptitude questions. Try to find out tricks for solving question and solve
question by having timer so you can beat the time limit in exam.
3. Tell me about yourself
This is the first question asked in every HR round. Write down answer for
this question. Make at least 3 minute speech. You have to answer this question until
HR won’t stop you. Do not add any irrelevant information in it. Add all
information about yourself only. Make this a fluent speech so that your first
impression will be great.
4. Strength and weakness
Sort down your strengths and weaknesses. This is one of the most asked
question in HR round. Mostly you have been asked 3 weaknesses so be prepared
and try to convey them how you are going to overcome these weaknesses.
5. Technical preparation
In any technical proficiency if you want to apply for, if possible try to
have certification course for it. Google the top 100 most asked interview
questions of this technical proficiency and try to by heart the answers.
Eg. For JAVA preparation, Google “Top 100 JAVA interview questions”
6. Upload resume on online job portal
Upload your resumes on all online portal like naukri.com, monster.com,
Linkedin, indeed, shine.
Try to upload any data every 3 to 4 days so that chances of recruiter noticing
your profile increases. Old profiles does get noticed as much data is there.
7. Use Glassdoor
When you are going to any interview use Glassdoor portal to have
information about that company. There you can find the genuine review about the
company from their employees. You can also find out whether this company is genuine or a consultancy. Sometimes here you get the information about interview
process also.
8. Try giving external examinations like Amcat
There are external exams like Amcat, E-litmus, Cocubes. These exams has
technical and aptitude questions. From these examination scores you can
directly apply to many companies. Try to give Amcat and Cocubes exam because
their difficulty level is moderate. E-litmus is having high difficulty level.
If you are IIT, NIT level student you can try for E-litmus exam. E-litmus can
give you a higher package too.
9. Attempt all drives and interview
Don’t miss any chance saying I am not well prepared yet, once I will be
prepared I am going to attend the drive.
If you miss the chance the chance is gone for you. Attend all drives
because most of recruitment in MNC’s happened by luck also and you never know
when your luck going to be changed.
10. Be prepared for your Engineering Project
You must expect a compulsory question on your engineering project in
technical round. Whether you have created your project at your own or you have
bought it from somewhere you have to know in deep about your project like what
technology is used, which algorithm is used, what is used in backend, project
functioning, architecture. Study these all and be prepared for this.
No one knows what you have actually done so be confident and be quite
technical too.😊
11. If you are getting a chance in Startup company then go
for it because from where you can learn too much in small time and you can
overtake your friend from MNC within 2 to 3 years in terms of package.
12. When you are prepared for technical interview
try to give mock interview somewhere who is proficient or senior, then you will
come to know what type of cross question can be asked and what need to be prepared more.
13.You must know about SDLC (Software Development
Life Cycle), waterfall model because these are the basics of IT industry.
14. While sending your resume to anyone. Send it in
morning time so that your mail make a space in first mail to be read by the
person in morning and get chance to highlight.
15. Last but not least “Don’t Lose Hope”, One get a job in first interview or one get it in 20th interview so be
positive.
